In October 22nd-29th, 2006, the Director of the International Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (IPPC), Mr Henryk Martenka visited China. He was invited by Professor Dan, The Artistic Director of The International Piano Concerto Competition and The Juror of The International Paderewski Piano Competition. It was third of the International Piano Competitions in China (after Pekin and Shanghai).

The business trip was begun with traditional gifts - promotions materials (publications, plates, gadgets), relating with IPPC in Bydgoszcz from supplies of the Paderewski Music Association in Bydgoszcz and relating with Bydgoszcz from The Culture Department in Bydgoszcz City Hall.

Mr. Martenka took a part in II and III stage of the Competition, where the Chairwoman of Jury was Professor Zhou Gangren, also The Juror of The VIIPPC. Among the 11 jurors were Professor Piotr Paleczny and Professor Władimir Krajniew. The Competition won (ex equo I prize) Maria Kim, representing Ukraina, the laureate of the I prize on the VI IPPC in Bydgoszcz.

The visit on the Competition made possible the meetings about promoting The International Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz, jurors and laureates. The visit had also the practical dimension, because the meetings was connecting with the preliminary audition in ShenZhen (May 2006) as well as Hannower (April 2006), because two oft he jurors Bernd Goetzke from Hannover and Zhaoyi Dan form China.

The meeting with the representatives of the Culture People's Department of the City Councilin Shen Zhen as well as the students, interested in taking a part in the preselection audition for candidates from China.
